Saturday. Although Cerebral Brewing is known mostly for its hazy IPAs and barrel-aged adjunct stouts, the brewery also makes lagers, like pilsner, helles and Baltic porter. To give these lagers a twist, Cerebral typically ages them in large wooden vessels, called foeders, which can impart a touch of oak and a mellow roundness to the way the beers taste and feel.
To highlight these beers, Cerebral is hosting its first Foeder Lager Fest on Saturday, Sept. 24. “This oak-centric event will feature a variety of barrel-aged and foeder-fermented lagers spanning many styles,” the brewery said, adding that there will also be non-foeder-aged lagers like its recently released Festbier. Plus, expect lager-friendly food pairings from Lady in the Wild Food Truck and German-style pretzels from XLVII Bakery. Entry to the festival, which runs from noon to 10 p.m. at Cerebral Brewing, 1477 Monroe St. in Denver, is free. cerebralbrewing.com — Jonathan Shikes
