Bolton fashionistas have raised a ‘magnificent sum of money’ for charity
The fashion show was held at the Hawthorns in Blackrod and saw a parade of glamourous models take to the catwalk in aid of the Bolton based Endeavour charity.
Mayor of Blackrod Cllr Susan Baines, who also represents the area on Bolton Council, described the event as ‘fabulous’ and said it could not have been possible without the support of local charities and businesses.

She said: “They have helped residents in Blackrod and Horwich.
“My special thanks to Jack and all the wonderful staff at the Hawthorns venue Blackrod who hosted the event and to Buttons Boutique, Horwich who arranged the fashion show.”
As well as the show itself the event also featured singing, stalls selling all kinds of goods and a raffle.

Cllr Baines added: “Thanks too to the Phoenix Knights of Harmony for their acapalla singing and to the many stalls and for the donated raffle prizes.”
The money raised will go towards supporting Chorley Old Road based Endeavour in the vital work that they do.
The charity offers support to all kinds of people who are effected by domestic abuse with community work, counselling, and group work all key to its mission.

The organisation is also renowned for being the first of its kind in the UK to offer an in-house pet fostering service to enable people with pets to flee an abusive household without having to leave their animals behind.
Cllr Baines said that the generosity of the people who organised and supported the fashion show is all the more impressive given the hardship so many people are going through and added that another event could well be on the cards soon.

“Also to the ladies from our new Blackrod WI who supported the event so fantastically.”
